Hospital Comforts Fund provides for the care and comfort of CAF members confined to hospital from injury, illness, accident or surgery for longer than 48 hours have access to telephone, television, internet services and reading materials for the duration of their stay in hospital. The Hospital Comforts Fund identifies services that must be provided to members wounded in operations but it also recognizes that there is a requirement for a flexible system of service delivery that will meet the needs of those hospitalized in civilian hospitals across Canada, in overseas hospitals, such as the Landstuhl Regional Medical Centre in Germany, and in the Kandahar Role 3 Medical Facility Mission.

Who can apply
- Regular Force members
- Reserve Force members on Class B or C service
- Reserve Force members on Class A who are injured on duty or hospitalized during periods of training
Type of available support
a. Up to $10* per day to a maximum of $300 for the purchase of amenities (magazines, snacks, books, dvds, toiletries, etc). No receipts are required.
b. Separate from the amenities portion, the following items (with receipts) will be covered for the duration of the hospitalization:
- Basic television rental;
- Basic phone rental;
- Access to internet and email services
- Parking expenses up to a maximum of $50 per month
