After months of extensive renovations, the CANEX ExpressMart at CFB Wainwright showed off a brand new look at the grand re-opening on June 6, 2012.
The new-and-improved ExpressMart features double the floor space, reorganized merchandise, larger departments and more variety. The new store has something for everyone: there is an expanded clothing section for fashion lovers, an updated electronics section with all the latest tech gadgets, a renovated barber shop, and wide selection of furniture and appliances.
The store was officially re-opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony, attended by Colonel M. Blackburn, Base Commander; CANEX President Gerry Mahon; CANEX Vice President Mac McMillan; representatives from BMO, who have an ABM in the store; and, of course, our valued CANEX customers! Patrons were treated to cake, coffee and great in-store deals. There were also special prize draws that saw two lucky customers walking away with a new barbecue, and a Wii gaming system.
In addition to new merchandise selections, the new store also provides a more open, modern look and a better shopping experience for CANEX’s loyal customers. The store has been transformed with an updated colour palette and a bright new interior space, making the overall shopping experience much more enjoyable.
Once CANEX patrons are done their shopping, they can also relax at the new in-store snack bar, where they can enjoy coffee, sandwiches, and free Wi-Fi.
“Now, the soldiers also have a place where they can come and relax,” says Jean Lacasse, National Manager, Convenience Operations. “The base was looking to create a space where Canadian Forces members could have some food and socialize, and the renovated CANEX provides just that.”
